For a while now, we've gotten used to seeing each other as soon as the new year starts and celebrating together on 24 January The Little Union, the union of Moldavia with Wallachia, when a decisive step was taken towards the creation of the Romanian unitary national state.

January 24 this year marked the 158th anniversary of the unification of Moldavia with Wallachia, when a decisive step was taken towards the creation of a unitary Romanian national state.

To celebrate the Little Union, we met in Amsterdam, where we spent a pleasant afternoon together.

We were honoured by the presence of the Ambassador of Romania, Brândușa Predescu, as well as the translator Jan Willem Bos and the artists Adriana Pop and Alex Simu.

After Alex Simu opened the event by playing the national anthem on clarinet, and later Adriana Pop played the guitar on lyrics by Nicolae Labiș, the Ambassador's speech and the presentation of the translation of the novel "Alexandru Lăpușneanul" into Dutch, signed by Jan Willem Bos, followed.

During the event, Alex Simu said:

We are very happy that we were together again and that we had the opportunity to get to know each other better. It's nice to know that events like this can facilitate new connections.

And we again had the Book Corner, where everyone can donate books to the Foundation for sale, and those who want them can buy them.

We are very grateful for your support. Your enthusiasm motivates us to continue and we firmly believe that together we are better.

2016

In January 2016 we met in folk costumes in Amstelveen.

Ștefan Bele took us on the wings of music and Dana Popa told us about integration, adaptation and new roots in new lands.

Stefan Postol made wonderful portraits of the children, while in the drawing contest with the theme "Hora" the children's creativity was unleashed and delighted us with the joy of their images.

A wonderful day of dancing to traditional and modern rhythms, tasting each other's delicacies, meeting friends after many years and bonding with each other. a great horde.
