Courses
Dutch language
Dutch module 1
The Dutch Module 1 course is designed for people who want to learn Dutch from scratch. The course is interactive. Learners are given the microphone to practise what they have learnt, as verbal practice is the most important part of learning a language.
Along the way different grammar topics are discussed and practiced such as: conjugation of verbs in present, future and in combination with modal verbs, adjectives, personal and possessive pronouns. The course consists of 15 lessons, in each lesson we pay 5-10 minutes attention to a topic related to Dutch customs.
Dutch module 2
Dutch "Dialogue technique"
proposals, discussions related to sales/buying/renting, but also information related to booking/ordering/traveling/insurance/documents, etc. The course is interactive and based on a lot of oral conversation combined with grammar and vocabulary. The aim of the course is
consolidation of acquired knowledge (in theoretical models) and improvement of verbal skills in Dutch.
Module 3 can be followed in parallel.
Dutch module 3
The Dutch Module 3 course is designed for people who have successfully participated in Module 2 or who have sufficient command of the language but notice that there is room for improvement. We particularly invite you to participate if you find yourself answering the following questions: which nouns have the article 'de' and which 'het'? How do I use the demonstrative pronouns 'dit/dat' and 'deze/die'? When and how do they use 'het' and 'er'? Which preposition is appropriate: op, aan, voor, van, over, bij, etc.? Which verbs are reflexive and how do I conjugate them? As in module 2, we combine theory with practice, practising what we have learnt verbally through conversation on a particular topic. As in the previous modules, in this course we also pay attention to Dutch culture and customs.
Dutch module 4
This course is suitable for people who have a very good theoretical command of the language but have problems deciphering more complex texts and expressing themselves verbally. In this course we pay particular attention to topical texts. In parallel with this we also pay attention to the musical/literary culture (in order to maintain a relaxed atmosphere). In each lesson we also discuss a grammar topic.
Romanian beginners – module 1
The course is suitable for everybody who would like to acquire a basic knowledge of Romanian language. The lessons will be structured based on the level of difficulty. A few of the objectives of this course are mentioned bellow:
- gaining basic knowledge about Romanian language;
- getting familiar with the pronunciation of some particular Romanian sounds;
- understanding simple contexts, responding appropriate to different situations presented during the first 10 lessons;
- acquiring a basic vocabulary.
The course will mainly use the communicative method; the most used language will be Romanian. If needed, the teacher can provide explanations in English, French or Dutch. Along the lessons, cross-cultural information will be presented.
The courses are not accredited and we cannot offer officially recognised certificates.
The subject matter and level of the courses for beginners and intermediates are similar to A1 and A2 levels in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. By attending the courses we offer, which are short-term, we cannot guarantee the acquisition at the aforementioned levels. For the acquisition of the A1 and A2 levels, a much higher number of study hours and lessons are necessary.

Suzanne teaches the Dutch conversation course and was the coordinator of the Intreconnections online school. She is Dutch and has been in Romania regularly since 2011.
Since 2017 she has been working as a social-cultural worker and tour guide in Romania. She graduated from the Free University of Amsterdam in the field of culture, organization and management and enjoys exploring other languages and cultures.
From 2008 to 2016 he worked as project coordinator for Dutch language courses in Rotterdam. After taking some online courses at ROMPRO, he was the online school coordinator and now teaches the Dutch conversation course. Her motto: language is the key to contact!
Dana is the initiator of Interconnections Online School. Her keen desire to share her knowledge with those around her and to learn from others motivated her to start this online environment for sharing experiences, called Interconnections Online School.
She is the vice-president of the ROMPRO Foundation - Romanians For Romanians Netherlands, where she is keen to contribute to the strengthening of the Romanian community and the creation of bridges between the Romanian community and communities of other origin.
She has lived in the Netherlands since 1990, where she studied over the years and became a cross-cultural family and relationship therapist with a specialisation in, among other things, behavioural therapy. Relationships and blended families are her passion.
Gia graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Philology, majoring in French-Romanian. She has international teaching experience.
In Romania, she worked as a French and Romanian teacher at the German High School in Bucharest. At the American governmental organization Peace Corps, she coordinated the Romanian language teaching and cultural integration program for American volunteers.
Since 2003 she has been living in the Netherlands and is currently working at the British School. In her spare time, she gives private language lessons for adults.
After several years of professional practice in Romania as an architect and urban planner, Ruxandra realized it was time for a new challenge.
In 2013 he enrolled in an international master's degree in urban planning in the Netherlands and the UK. After finishing her studies she stayed in the Netherlands, where she works as an urban planner in a company specialising in mobility and sustainable transport.
Wanting to stay in touch with Romanian culture and to contribute to the development of the Romanian community in the Netherlands, Ruxandra got involved as a volunteer in various activities of the Foundation and is now project manager of the Online School Interconnections.
