Interconnections Online School, one of the ROMPRO projects, offers online language courses Dutch and Romanian since the autumn of 2016.

How does it work
After your registration and payment:
- you will receive an email with general information.
- if enough students have enrolled, we will start the course and you will get an email with instructions about Clickmeeting and the platform where you can find the lessons.
- before every Webinar you will receive an invitation from your teacher by email so you can join the lesson via Clickmeeting.
- if a course doesn’t have enough students, we will let you know and you will get your money back.

Dutch beginners
By enrolling in this course, you will be able to understand and use simple expressions that meet everyday needs.
You will:
- be able to communicate in a simple manner, either independently or helped, if your conversation partner speaks slowly and clearly.
- be able to introduce yourself and carry a conversation about various topics and contexts, such as shopping or leisure time.
- learn basic grammar rules necessary to communicate with ease.
Dutch conversation
To learn a language well, it is important to practice it a lot. In these lessons we only speak Dutch. We practice using lectures, role plays, discussing news items and talking about daily topics. Every week we focus on a different aspect of the language.
Dutch intermediate
This course is aimed at those who already have basic knowledge of the Dutch language.
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- understand and use everyday expressions related to areas of interest that have to do with, for instance, family, shopping, your surroundings, health, and work.
- express opinions and feelings, and you will be able to understand simple texts, written for natives, when the topic and vocabulary are familiar.
- to take notes and write short, simple letters.
English beginners
This course is meant for anyone who wants to obtain basic knowledge of the English language.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
- pronounce most of the sounds in the English language;
- make simple grammatical constructions and expand their grammatical knowlegde
- understand and hold basic conversations about subjects that have been presented in the lessons;
- further expand their basic vocabulary obtained in the course.
The course will be held in Romanian, with the intention to speak English as much as possible. Several cultural subjects will also be discussed.
English intermediate
This course is aimed at those who already have basic knowledge of the English language.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- interpret standard input on familiar matters such as work, school, leisure, and family.
- deal with different situations that arise while traveling or working in English-speaking countries, all while being able to describe your experiences and your future ambitions.
- be able to arrange a job interview and interview for a job in your area of expertise.
The course will be held in English as much as possible.
Romanian beginners
The course is suitable for everybody who would like to acquire a basic knowledge of Romanian language. The lessons will be structured based on the level of difficulty. A few of the objectives of this course are mentioned bellow:
- gaining basic knowledge about Romanian language;
- getting familiar with the pronunciation of some particular Romanian sounds;
- understanding simple contexts, responding appropriate to different situations presented during the first 10 lessons;
- acquiring a basic vocabulary.
The course will mainly use the communicative method; the most used language will be Romanian. If needed, the teacher can provide explanations in English, French or Dutch. Along the lessons, cross-cultural information will be presented.
Romanian conversation
This course is a good addition to the regular Romanian lessons. You practice talking, listening and understanding the Romanian language.
Romanian intermediate
This course is suitable for those who already acquired a basic knowledge of grammar and who can communicate (who had 20 lessons of Romanian). The lessons will be structured based on the level of difficulty. A few specific objectives of this course are mentioned bellow:
- to describe physical appearance;
- to talk about yourself and family relations;
- to express preferences, likes and dislikes;
- to report past events;
- to talk about future plans;
- getting familiar with the pronunciation of some particular Romanian sounds;
- understanding simple contexts, responding appropriate to different situations presented during the first 10 lessons;
- acquiring a basic vocabulary.
The course will mainly use the communicative method; the most used language will be Romanian. Along the lessons, cross-cultural information will be presented.
The courses are not accredited and we cannot provide attendance certificates that are officially recognized. The thematic and the level of the beginner and intermediary courses are similar to the levels A1 and A2, respectively, as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. By attending the courses we offer, which are short-term, we cannot guarantee the acquisition at the aforementioned levels. For the acquisition of the A1 and A2 levels, a much higher number of study hours and lessons are necessary.

Suzanne is the coordinator of the Online Language School. She is Dutch and has been in Romania regularly since 2011. Since 2017 she has been working as a social-cultural worker and as a tour guide in Romania. She graduated from the Free University in Amsterdam in Culture, organization and management and loves to explore other languages and cultures.
From 2008 to 2016 she worked as a project coordinator for Dutch language courses in Rotterdam. After she has followed several online Romanian courses at ROMPRO she is now the coordinator of the online school. She also supervises the Dutch conversation group.
Her motto: language is the key to contact!
Dana is the founder of the Interconnections Online School. Always eager to share her knowledge with her close ones and to learn from others, she felt motivated to start this online medium where people can learn and share experiences.
She is the vice president of ROMPRO and wants very much to contribute to the strengthening of the Romanian community in the Netherlands and to building bridges between it and communities of other origins.
She’s been living in the Netherlands since 1990, when she came to study. She works as an intercultural systemic psychotherapist, where her passion lies in helping mixed couples and families.
Gia has graduated from the Faculty of Letters (University of Bucharest), where she studied French and Romanian. In Romania she worked as a French and Romanian teacher at the German High School in Bucharest.
In 1995 she taught her first Romanian lesson to a group of five Americans. Since then, she never stopped doing it; teaching is her passion. In Romania, Gia was managing the Intercultural and language training program for US governmental organizations Peace Corps.
In 2003 she moved to the Netherlands and is currently working at the British School. During free time, she also teaches individual Romanian language course for adults.
Claudia has a passion for music and began her career in the industry from an early age. After arriving in the Netherlands in 1990, she participated in several TV programs, and then worked for several impresario agencies including Joop van den Ende, BVIPM Productions and Jan Vis Events.
After graduating from the Universal Voice Institute Alberto ter Doest, she began teaching singing, both privately, as well as at the music school in Leusden.
In 1993 she graduated from the Cambridge University in Utrecht, having studied English for two years. At present she studies psychology at the Open University and teaches English at the Van Lodenstein high school in Hoevelaken.
She’s also passionate about mechanics and electrotechnology, and she volunteers at the retirement home De Linde in Amersfoort during her spare time.
A graduate of the Faculty of Letters at University of Bucharest, Romanian-French section, Violeta comes with a long professorship experience, teaching the beauty of foreign languages to the youngest of the students.
In 2016 she graduated as well Faculty of English at University “Dunarea de Jos” .
She completed many international projects for both students and projects: Comenius in The Netherlands (2009) and Portugal (2009), Grundtvig in Denmark (2011) and, most recently, Erasmus+ with partners from Turkey and Poland (2015-2017).
Starting with 2011 she visits Netherlands regularly in her vacations and in 2011-2012 attends a Dutch language course at Piezo in Zoetermeer ; in this way she discovers she wants to work in the Dutch Education system.
Maria previously coordinated the Dutch beginners course and is now teaching the English beginners course. After arriving in the Netherlands four years ago, she worked at various international companies. She is now studying at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht to become an English teacher.
She always had a passion for languages and she is now once again part of the Interconnections Online School team to put theory to practice.
Andreea has a passion for education and people. This passion was sparked 9 years ago when she started teaching English to young learners in various schools in Bucharest. Working with students of such tender ages has aided her in learning that it’s not just about imparting knowledge, it’s especially about embracing those unique moments that arise during each class.
Every individual is unique and each one deserves special treatment. She has lived by the same principles when teaching adults.
Her goal is investing in people and empowering them to learn a foreign language such as English.
Currently, Andreea is dedicated to teaching at an MBO and giving accent reduction classes.
I followed the advanced module, which just ended. It is an excellent initiative for those who want to improve their knowlegde of the Dutch language. It is a great opportunity to learn the grammar rules and enrich our vocabulary. The fact that we have the weekly webinar makes us more responsible for preparing for the next meeting and keeping up with the lessons. The Romanian language course for beginners is pleasant, interactive and payw attention to the news. It's a good start to learn the basics. It challenges you to read, write and speak Romanian in a fun way. I liked the course a lot, I've already done it twice!
I liked the course Romanian a lot! It was the best initiation in Romanian that I could imagine. Courses and lesson plans were well done, they had a good rhythm, and they were not just a step by step understanding of the language, but also of the customs, cuisine and culture in Romania.

The Romanian language course for beginners is pleasant, interactive and payw attention to the news. It's a good start to learn the basics. It challenges you to read, write and speak Romanian in a fun way. I liked the course a lot, I've already done it twice!
I liked the course Romanian a lot! It was the best initiation in Romanian that I could imagine. Courses and lesson plans were well done, they had a good rhythm, and they were not just a step by step understanding of the language, but also of the customs, cuisine and culture in Romania.
