Hi! I'm Ane Machedonschi. I was born and raised in Bucharest, Balta Alba, Poarta 4 Faur.
Mother a shoe factory worker and father a ratb driver, divorced and each remarried. My story is a long one with many adventures, with successes and failures, but also disappointments... but that's not what I want to tell you about now.

In 2014, somewhere in mid-October, I arrived in the Netherlands. I came here specifically to help build America's embassy. I was selected because of my professional experience as a Butcher and my English...Here I met the woman who 4 years later would become my wife.
For 3 years we had a hidden relationship, hidden from my family and hidden from my Romanian colleagues but also from her Dutch colleagues. As crazy as this sounds in a country like the Netherlands homosexual relationships are not as accepted as it seems.

It's not easy to be indifferent to the comments of Romanians (which are often rude) but neither are those of the Dutch in bad taste.

On October 11, 2018 (international coming out day) we got married and why do I want to state that. I didn't have the courage to tell my parents that I ( their daughter ) was marrying another woman. My mother and siblings accepted our marriage immediately by being by my side at the town hall, with my father it was a bit harder but he finally accepted that I will never come home with a son-in-law but a daughter-in-law.
Now we have been together for 8 years and we are very happy. I'm really enjoying the freedom I have now, the freedom to be me, a freedom I felt peaked when I confessed to family and friends.

If there's anyone who thinks they're not understood by family or friends ...find out this way: the LGBTQ+ community can help. Every story is different, every emotion experienced with a different intensity and everyone is the creator of their own life.

What's your reaction?

Congratulations Ane and I'm glad that your phallia also understood that only happiness and understanding matters in a couple, regardless of gender. Don't be impressed by what others think, as no one will feed you. I understand a same-sex relationship, even if I don't practice it. Between a man and a woman there are big differences, that's why many divorces (one in three divorces in NL). I have been living in NL for 37 years and I have really noticed in the last years a change of mentality, and I think that one of the reasons for this is immigration, where many people live in the stone age. Although even then there were homosexuals. I wish you good health and understanding. See you at Pride?
