A week and better ago, Romanian Business Community was present at the first edition of the festival Romanian Days. We wanted to use the available resources and offer the Romanian community in the Netherlands support in integration and professional development. Thus, we provided three workshops: "Effective Networking", "Public Speaking" and "Your First Business in the Netherlands". We also mention the workshop "Our Relationships", whose relevance in personal development is implicit for the professional one.

Johann Stan opened the weekend with his workshop, "Efficient networking". Johann is passionate about innovation, which he supports through all his activities. He is a member of the European Young Innovators Forum and founder of TEDxTarguMures. Johann has guided us in the world of business networking. We discussed and exemplified how to present ourselves, how to pay attention to what each approach, gesture and information we use in opening lines of communication expresses. The second workshop was held by Teodor Cătăniciu, a web development enthusiast and founder of Restart Network, which is a non-profit organization that offers a chance for a new start in the world of technology. During the workshop "Storytelling for Better Public Speaking", Teodor introduced us to the elements needed to create and sustain a public speech. He talked to us about the importance of the story we choose to tell and how to tell it in a way that captures the audience's attention. These two workshops, "Effective Networking" and "Public Speaking", complemented each other in an extremely useful way, providing participants with usable information for both small-scale meetings, such as an interview or social event, and presentations, no matter how large the audience.

The second day was opened by Georgiana Vasile, through the workshop "Your first business in the Netherlands". Georgiana specialises in corporate law and data protection. She spoke to us about the necessary legislative elements, but also the practicalities associated with them. In addition to the official details, Georgiana also sprinkled in a number of tips born from experience. The last workshop I would like to mention is "Our Relationships" given by Dana Popa. She is a cross-cultural systemic therapist, psychiatric assistant, trainer and mentor in personal development. During this workshop we discussed the importance of family, couple, friendship and professional relationships. The ability to detach and objectively analyze how we interact and relate to the people around us is essential for professional success, even more so in another culture.

All this information was put into practice not only during the workshops, under the guidance of the speaker, but also outside them, during the festival, in the pleasant conversations held by each of them. The relaxed environment of the festival was conducive to interaction and making new contacts. This shows the openness of the participants, which can only make us happy.

If you went to the festival, we look forward to your impressions via evaluation form and we invite you on our Facebook page or in LinkedIn group to get to know each other better.
