Dwarf workshop

We met up on Saturday, with all the little ones and the big ones, at school to celebrate Easter.

Because we have a tradition of dyeing eggs on this holy holiday, we brought the children a basket of dyed eggs. They each chose an egg and we clinked them together, saying "Christ is risen/ Truly is risen!", then the little ones ate them or took them home.

"Discover the surprise" was our game for this hour, which the children played curiously. There were various things hidden in some plastic eggs, and the little ones only discovered them if they opened the egg. The excitement was great, because each egg hid another surprise. Then they discovered that these eggs could be spun on the floor and used as a ball. The children practised their creative skills when they "circled" eggs on paper, colouring them as cheerfully as possible. The younger children were guided by their parents in this activity.Together with little Izabella, we made a paper basket for each child to collect as many eggs as possible, especially since at the end of the workshop all the children participated in an egg hunt in the school yard. The good weather and the joy of the children running around the yard made us feel that Easter, the Feast of Light and Renewal, was indeed approaching.

Christ is risen!

I hope you had a nice and joyful Easter Holiday! Wishing you all health, joy and inspiration!

Last Saturday's lesson marked the Easter celebration in activities and spirit. With cheerfulness and involvement, under a shower of questions/answers, we decorated the Easter tree made of budding willow branches. Thus the eggs, either hollowed and painted or plastic, together with other spring decorations (butterflies, bunnies, chicks) found their place in our Easter tree. We find this tradition in Romania, especially in Transylvania and the Bistrita area, but it is also a tradition respected in the Netherlands. In fact, the Easter tree is seen by us and other peoples as a symbol of communion and joy, while the egg symbolises life. Through questions and answers, we found out what this Easter holiday is and how we celebrate it in our own and other Christian countries. The reading consisted of the Easter story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which was told in a child-friendly way and listened to with awe.

We also talked about what goodies our grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers/ aunts cook for the traditional Easter meal and how we greet each other on the first day of Easter (Christ is risen/True is risen).

As in the second part of the lesson, the children were looking for chocolate eggs in the school yard, we thought it would be good to create our own Easter basket, using a material created by the "Zmeisters" team. Here's the link for those of you who missed it: https://www.zmeisorii.ro/cosulet-paste.Out with great joy, the Bunny was generous and the children found enough chocolate eggs to gobble with gusto and joy.

In conclusion, we attended the festive meal with fasting dishes, which was joyfully dominated by the festive atmosphere. Thank you for the food prepared and your involvement. It was indeed a special day together!

I look forward to welcoming you this Saturday to a new workshop with a new theme: "Insects".

Play, personal development and photography

Last Saturday we had a fabulous time, good weather, fun and lots of surprises for the little ones. Donkey among the sheep, bunnies and frogs, butterflies and bees took turns being the guest characters.

Then we started a set of competitions with challenges and obstacles where we tested our acumen and speed, how fit we are for the coming summer and combined competition with relaxation. The running, climbing, long jump and obstacle crossing events were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. After which, at the request of the little ones, we played an excellent game of football, where the score was considerably supported by even a newcomer to the team.

This Saturday's session was a little shorter, as we made snacks and all sorts of treats on Easter Eve.

So, after all that running around, we moved on to foraging for chocolate chips in the grass as an appetizer, which the kids loved. Then, hungry after all the playing and searching, they joined us in enjoying their 'hunt'.

Next Saturday we will have our next photography lesson. There are also some prizes waiting for those who did very well last time. I remind you to send in your photos taken by the children so that I can make an archive and at the same time don't forget to charge your camera batteries. We will continue exploring in nature and applying the concepts already learned.

Until next time I wish you all the best and see you soon!
