Play and personal development

Today we created stories. Raluca Tudorache, the workshop coordinator, opened her personal trunk where she collects little magical animals and all sorts of rare and strange objects that helped the children let their imagination run free.

And to keep the joy alive we went all out and played happy. We became princesses for a day and covered ourselves in sparkling stars, we practiced dance steps and we already tried a ballerinas and models, a correct posture and an aristocratic air.

We rolled around laughing and frolicked around in high spirits, but we also tried some more serious stuff: character work with the help of the "Eyey", who shared some of his favourite activities, from climbing trees to munching gingerbread.

Then we relaxed again, thinking about the perfect prince. The children learned a game from our childhood: "A prince was riding by".

Until our next meeting on 4 November, Raluca wishes the children a pleasant and interesting autumn holiday!

Romanian language and culture workshop

The children focused on autumn-related activities. Starting with the song "A, a, a, now it's autumn, yes!", we reminisced about the colours of autumn and its characteristics. We talked about the travelling birds, the changes in nature, the rich harvests we reap during this season. We did not forget the other seasons and listed them, each with its own particularity. We learned new words like: "vine, vineyards, grapes, cochorus, cuckoos, swallows, short, tall, etc.".

Inspired by the song, we sat down at the table and harvested our own fruit, creating an autumn basket. Each age group had its own challenge. The little ones (4-5 years old) cut out, glued and coloured and the older ones (+6 years old) competed in writing and drawing. Here are the words we learned: apple, pear, grape, walnut, quince. The children already know many letters in Romanian!

Reading time brought us to Billy Peck's farm. Billy Peck was a duck whose dream was to be able to walk the tightrope. Helped by his friend Artie, he practiced every day, until one day Aries arrived and things changed. It's a simple story about friendship and friends. We were impressed by the little guys' effervescence and righteous judgment! The story is called "Billy the Balancer" by Pedro Pable Sacristan.

Dwarf Workshop

We are the Dwarfs, the Cheerful Dwarfs, who learned about a very tasty and trendy vegetable at the end of October: pumpkin! During the workshop we viewed a presentation about pumpkin and listened to a popular story about this vegetable. Then it rained in our mouths as we listed all the dishes you can make from pumpkin: soup, pie, baked dessert, etc. And we learned that you can also make lanterns from pumpkin. these pumpkins!

Then I got creative and coloured, decorated, glued and cut out a paper pumpkin. And after all that hard work, we did some stop-dancing! Who doesn't know how to play this game? We invite you to watch the video.

Until our next meeting, Raluca, Eliza and Dilek wish the children a pleasant and interesting autumn holiday! See you, with love, on 4 November!
