We invite you to the 9th edition of Kinderboekenweek: Book Week!
3 October 2026 | 14:30–17:00
St. Nicolaaslyceum, Beethovenplein 2, Amsterdam
This year’s theme is „In the spotlight!”, and our event brings to the Romanian community in the Netherlands two stories of particular significance to Romania, as well as a panel discussion on how we relate to reading today.
Romanian Library Netherlands invites you to discover, through comics and alongside a fantastic narrator, Nicolae Pepene, the director Brasov County History Museum, two books that highlight two themes closely associated with Romania: “Stories from 1989” and “Dracula”.
We will continue the event with the panel discussion „Books and us. How to develop healthy reading habits”, with the following guests: Dana Popa, a therapist much loved by the ROMPRO community, Andreea Alina Adler, coordinator of the online book club ‘The Pre/A/Busy Parents’ Reading Club’ and Eliza van Peppen a renowned teacher at the Romanian Schools in Amsterdam and The Hague.
We’ve got some other surprises in store for you, including a reading workshop with Simona Popa – the founder of the ‘Books for Matei’ Library – a face-painting session with Ana Scoarță, and, of course, a book fair.
