On 9 February 2017, ROMPRO representatives, together with representatives of Deventer municipality and NetSib Foundation, gathered in Deventer for a deliberative meeting. On this occasion, potential opportunities for collaboration between the three parties were discussed, both with the aim of actively promoting Romanian culture and its values in the Netherlands and establishing partnerships between Romanian and Dutch organisations.
Both ROMPRO and NetSib Foundation share the same ideals and want to join forces, having partners and volunteers in the social, cultural, educational and business fields.
As far as Deventer municipality is concerned, its purpose is to inform each other within the network, while its members identify opportunities in their own sector, contact and recruit colleagues with cross-border ideas and establish contacts with members of other sectors within the International Office.
With long-term experience of cooperation with the city and area of Sibiu, as well as the NetSib Foundation, the municipality of Deventer supports these new networking possibilities. Opportunities between Deventer and Romanian companies will be explored together in the future. During this meeting, the ROMPRO Foundation received with great interest the book Made in Deventer, which describes 90 export companies developing in the city of Deventer.
Collaborative projects
The first two projects included in the NetSib and ROMPRO joint objectives agenda are Universal Day of Youth in the Netherlands and National Day of Romania. At the same time, this meeting provided an excellent platform for extending partnerships and invitations to various events, with the aim of giving birth to other projects and collaborations. All parties look forward to further cooperation.Within ROMPRO there is an extensive network of Romanians in the Netherlands. Through serious events, projects and actions we want to give a true and complete picture of Romania, the Romanians and their success in the Netherlands. In all our activities we encourage respect, kindness, cooperation and teamwork. The main objective of the Foundation is the integration and success of all those involved in cooperation. Therefore, we strive to strengthen the community in the Netherlands so that it is inclusive and accessible, while becoming ambassadors of Romania and Romanian culture.
