On Saturday, December 14, Rompro volunteers had the opportunity to spend a few hours together where new volunteers got to know old ones, ideas were discussed and friendships were made.

We listened to carols, but also to old and new Romanian music, we baked pies, we boiled wine with spices as only my grandmother drank in winter. There was no lack of sarm on the tables, but neither were there any mussels or piftia because Christmas without them is not called Christmas and homesickness melts when you have dishes like those at home.

I met beautiful, intelligent people, determined to do something for the Romanians in the Netherlands. People who can change foreigners' image of Romania for the better by their mere presence, by their vitality, by their positivism and by their desire to show the world that we Romanians, like other nations, have good and bad things, but most of all we like to rely on the good ones.

There was dancing, singing, advice given, plans made and everyone left a little richer for home.

Happy holidays to all! Thank you to ROMPRO volunteers, partners and supporters!
