Romanian Business Community RBC started as a project in 2016, when a group of enthusiasts from the Foundation (Ramona Sandu and Irina Arhip) created a project team (Anca Dranca, Johann Stan, Aida Badiu and Marius Lepindea) and set out with a concept and a proposed plan for 2017.

The main objectives of the project were from the very beginning to create a network of Romanian professionals and businessmen, as well as to encourage personal development and Romanian business in the Netherlands.

The team underwent changes in the first months of 2017 (Johann Stan, Alexandra Bran, Aida Badiu, Irina Arhip), this project started in June 2017, when it had its official launch at the Hilton Amsterdam, in the presence of the Ambassador of Romania, Her Excellency Brândușa Predescu, as well as guests Peter Verheij (ING), Cor Geertsma (Nederlandse Business Club Cluj) and the ROMPRO Foundation Board.

After the launch, the RBC team training and internal organisation period followed, so that the programmes mentioned in the objectives could be developed.

The 35 members were integrated into functional teams during the August 2017 working meeting and started discussions to get to know each other and set expectations for the first year of work.

In November 2017 the first RBC webinar was held on networking, supported by Veronica Guguian, and the first network drinks in Amsterdam.

RBC has partnered with Romanian IT through the ROMPRO Foundation, supporting the launch of this community in Amsterdam and joining forces to create an engaged and successful Romanian community.

For RBC 2018 is a defining year, in which the objectives defined at the creation of the community will be pursued:

  • fostering personal and professional success and development;
  • improving knowledge and skills or acquiring new skills;
  • expanding your network of contacts;
  • guidance and support in starting and developing the business;
  • information on the Dutch labour market and business environment;
  • increase personal, professional and business visibility;
  • stimulating trade relations and exchange of experience between Romania and the Netherlands;
  • increase community prestige.

Following the plan defined at the creation of the community, in 2018 the team aims to carry out these activities:

  • quarterly virtual seminars containing topics of interest to the Romanian professional community;
  • Bi-annual interactive events (dinner and seminars included) in February 2018 and June 2018;
  • quarterly newsletters;
  • biannual meetings of networking;

In these last days of 2017, work is being done on the plan for 2018, on the implementation of the February event and on the preparation of the next RBC webinar.

We wish you all a good year and thank you to all of you who have supported and encouraged us in our work!
