Welcome home to the Fursec mouse! We'll soon explore his garden where, together with his friend, the hedgehog Agrisha, he has grown a range of fruit and vegetables. All the better to enjoy them on a beautiful autumn day, sitting together and chatting!
Stories, you say? Stories are more palatable when you have an expert storyteller around. So we invited the author Simona Epure to join us and tell us more about his latest book The little mouse Fursec and the surprise in the garden but also about his other writings.
We will explore together the theme Kinderboekenweek this year Bij mij thuis / At my home inviting an author from our "home" in Romania to our "home" in the Netherlands.
And because the theme "home" is a complex one for Romanians (big and small) living abroad, we will also have the author Ioana Chicet-Macoveiciuc for a discussion about the change of "home" and what it means to be a Romanian author in the diaspora.
On 14 OctoberOn the occasion of Kinderboekenweek, Simona Epure and Ioana Chicet-Macoveiciuc will be with us to celebrate Children's Book Week together at the Romanian School Amsterdam (St Nicolaaslyceum, Beethovenplein 2, Amsterdam). Member of the Association of Children's and Young People's Writers De Basm, SIMONA EPURE is a law school graduate who began publishing children's books in 2014. Her books are generally suitable for preschoolers: cheerful rhymes, poems and stories in verse. She is the author of one of the most popular and beloved Romanian family blogs: www.printesaurbana. He has almost 30 years of experience in print media (as editor, reporter, publisher and magazine coordinator), project management and online communication (in agencies, but also in the communication departments of Romanian brands). Since 2022 she lives in the Netherlands but has continued to write, edit and publish books in Romanian.

From 2018, Book Week is our way of joining Kinderboekenweek - the series of events promoting children's literature that takes place in the Netherlands every year in October. Initiated by Maria Dicieanu and organised by the Romanian School Amsterdam together with the Romanian Library Netherlands, the event Kinderboekenweek: Book Week has so far had three physical and two online editions. For the 6th edition, we are happy to be able to meet again physically, and we hope you will be able to join us at this event!
