My name is Mara, I am a student at the University of Amsterdam, and a volunteer at the Romanian School. For the first 18 years of my life I lived in Bucharest, and for as long as I can remember I have had only one answer to the well-known question: what do you want to be when you grow up? Teacher!

I chose to study in the Netherlands hoping to fulfill this dream, but I never imagined that even thousands of miles from home, those who help and guide me the most come from Romania. So I got to know, by pure chance, some fantastic teachers and coordinators, and of course a lot of funny, cheerful, funny and smart children. Since then, I learn something new every Saturday: patience, humour, discipline, understanding - and of course, which pokemon is the strongest.
