Whether you're a tourist or live in the Netherlands, visiting a museum is an enjoyable activity that brings new knowledge. A museum card or museumkaart is a must, so you can visit as many museums as possible at an affordable price.
If the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank Huis (Amsterdam) or the Teylers Museum in Haarlem are on your list of attractions, then the museum card is the best option for paying your entrance fees. The card gives free priority access to over 400 museums across the country and is valid for one year. It can be purchased in museums or online. If you live in the Netherlands you will receive a special card that you will have to register online by adding a photo. From the moment of registration the card will be sent by post and will arrive within five working days. If the buyer is not resident in the Netherlands, it can be sent to a home address outside the country.
Prices
There are three types of cards: for adults (over 19 years old), for young people (between 13 and 18 years old) and for children (up to 12 years old). This makes a card suitable for every member of the family. The price of a card for adults is €60 in 2018, and for young people and children €33. Depending on the museums you want to visit, buying this card can be a way to save money and spend your free time in a satisfying way.
