Dwarf workshop

This Saturday was the last one in November, which led us to think that it's not long until the Christmas break! As a result, we started preparations for the Christmas party. We sang two beautiful songs together and chose one for the carol service. This year the dwarves are preparing a musical surprise using their voices, little hands and feet. Our workshop continued in the Christmas spirit with the dwarves building Santa's face out of coloured paper and paper plates. We attached a string to them and the little ones were very proud of the result.

We ended the workshop by rehearsing our artistic moment for the evening and dancing joyfully together.

Last Saturday's lesson was dedicated to our body. Because emotions are expressed and felt in/through the body, this time we chose to talk about the parts of the human body.

After a brief review of the emotions and other concepts learned (e.g. numbers 1 to 20), we proceeded to sing and play. It was a lesson in which giggles and tumbles to the beat of the music were not lacking. We defined body parts by listening and singing:

"Body parts":

"My fingers":

"My face:"

For the creative moment, we used the folding technique and created a paper face, then drew our hands, cut them out and made a beautiful collage.

Last lesson went above and beyond my expectations, with the children being very receptive and excited about what I had to offer. They responded nicely, touchingly and consciously when I talked to them a little about our reality too. Us grown ups doing everything for them.

I was excited in turn, noticing that they got serious once I opened up the conversation and were very open to the thought of giving a small token of their love to their parents.

Some even joked at times, because it is really hard to admit and face certain feelings, but in the end I was delighted to notice the depth of their feelings and especially the awareness with which they looked at themselves in those moments. We decided to make a number of winter holiday decorations and use them as a backdrop for love letters, as I called them, to parents. It was a good opportunity to go through our own thoughts, to return to the exercise of articulating thoughts, putting them on the page, expressing feelings, reflecting towards gratitude.

Not only did they have the opportunity to meditate on their love for their parents, but also on their lives, what it means to live a better life with loving and caring people. It was a positive journey in which they became aware that everything requires work, effort, devotion, but above all love.

What's your reaction?
