Today, we invite you to travel back in time together to the year 2023 to look back and reflect on the work of Romanian School Amsterdam. We were again present, Saturday after Saturday, at our beloved workshops, which we have been organizing with great dedication and love for children for 7 years now.

In 2023 we had 3 thematic workshops: Dwarf Workshop, Romanian Language and Culture Workshop and Personal Development Workshop for Pre-teens.

In the first part of the year, we met between 14 January and 1 July, discussing and learning a lot. We talked about numbers, birds, winter sports, dinosaurs, Dragobete and Marzipan, spring, insects and the importance of trees. We learned about Mihai Eminescu and the National Culture Day, danced and sang songs, recited poems, told stories, discovered emotions and learned about personal development and creativity. We celebrated the Marzipan, Mother's Day and All Women's Day, coloured Easter eggs and participated in Easter Day on 24 June.

On 11 February we had a special visit from Gabi, Romanian policeman who works in a police station in Amsterdam. The children learned what it means to be a policeman and had the opportunity to climb into a police van to see what's inside.

In June, the children took part in a programming workshop where they discovered the digital world.

After the summer break, we returned to the workshops with fresh strength on 9 September. By the end of the year, we continued to learn together about creativity, animals, autumn fruits, discovered new stories and discussed our passions.

On 14 October, we celebrated together Kinderboekenweek, i.e. Children's Book Week. There we met authors Simona Epure and Ioana Chicet-Macoveiciuc. We ended the year celebrating National Day of Romania then we waited for Santa Claus and Santa Claus with great joy.

Thank you to all the teachers who over the years have given part of their weekends to guide children towards Romanian language and traditions! Thank you to the parents for the effort to bring their children and for their kindness and kind words transmitted along the way!
